Our client is a renowned SME business based in the Midlands that designs and creates bespoke interior fit-out and joinery works. They specialise in luxurious residential and commercial projects such as hotels and other high-end properties and after over 100 years in the industry they have set the standard for interior fit out in the luxury market.

They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced CNC operator to lead their CNC department, with incredibly promising opportunity to develop, to enable the company to carry on delivering excellence and producing top quality products for their customers.

Key Responsibilities Of The CNC Lead Role

  • Oversee the setting and operation of CNC machinery, co-ordinating material works with other operators.
  • Work closely with the joinery team, to ensure seamless component production and roll out.
  • Liaise with multiple people, particularly managers to provide updates on production issues and improvements, and act on feedback.
  • Assess condition and suitability of cutting tools prior to use.
  • Ensure compliance is met with regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • See that production targets and deadlines are met punctually and to highest standard.
  • Complete inspection and daily sheets for machine use.

Key Requirements of the CNC Lead Role

  • Must have extensive background with CNC machinery, with examples of previous work within joinery sector.
  • Strong leadership ability to run a CNC department that liaises closely with the Joinery Department.
  • Must be competent with Alpha Cam for CNC programming.
  • Must be familiar with the company's machinery: Homag 5 axis, Homag Multi Borer, Morbidelli 3 Axis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to address any unforeseen issues.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, as well as a commercial vision and mindset.
  • Desire for to achieve excellence and work to the highest standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
