Position: CNC Operator/Machinist

Location: Carrick on Shannon

Salary: Negotiable DOE

The Job:

Elk are currently recruiting for a CNC Operator/ Machinist for a leading, innovative manufacturer of bespoke solid wood furniture with a distinct focus on developing exports into Europe, the USA and Australia.

CNC Operator/ Machinist Responsibilities:

  • Plan machining by studying work orders and drawings in line with production schedule.

  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.



CNC Operator/ Machinist Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years CNC experience

  • Be able to read workshop drawings.

  • Be able to work on own innovative.

  • Have experience of working within a team environment.

  • Be able to work to a high standard.

  • Be able to work to deadlines.

  • Be flexible to work overtime when required.
