The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our commercial team to work across projects based in London and the South.

As a Commercial Manager you will provide leadership to the commercial team, establishing commercial procedures and process on projects.

The initial role will be based at the Old Oak Common project across work Pack 8.1 & 17. Old Oak Common station is the London interchange station of the UK's second high speed railway (HS2) and will be the largest station ever constructed in a single stage in the UK. The project involves top-down construction of the reinforced concrete station box and 6 high speed service platforms including 690,000m3 of excavation, 180,000m3 of concrete poured and 33,000 tonnes of reinforcement fixed.

What will the role look like?

  • To lead teams on major construction projects
  • Take responsibility for a project's commercial performance
  • Develop commercial strategies and lead on contractual negotiations
  • To ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract
  • Responsibility for management account preparation and liaison with senior management

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Extensive knowledge of main standard forms of contract including NEC and JCT
  • Procurement experience on large value contracts
  • Experience of claims preparation and dispute avoidance/resolution
  • Experience of Change Management in accordance with the contract
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Presentable and articulate
  • Excellent organiser with proven time management skills
  • BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (or similar, a 2:1 or higher preferred)
