A large multi-national group are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to develop and deliver a commercial framework as they enter a new market.

This household name are backed by decades of experience in the financial services sector with particular expertise of residential and property financing around the globe. Their knowledge of the housing market is unrivalled and they have already invested in a large scale, fully equipped Modular Housing Factory to deliver their own fully in house solution.

Now poised to enter the market with a revolutionary product and compete with national developers, this business is driven to attract the very best candidates to deliver their projects.

The Role:

  • To create & own the Commercial framework within which the business will contract with Customers & Suppliers.
  • Working with counterparts & external advisors, to create a suite of standard contracts & provide define the company's approach in relation to warranties, accreditation, Indemnities & liabilities.
  • To maintain this suite of precedent contracts & fall back conditions for use by trained employees within the business.
  • To be part of the negotiating teams providing expertise in devising negotiation strategy & in negotiating complex commercial issues.
  • To define & maintain the Company's Commercial policies and procedures, so that they are consistently applied & are compliant with legal requirements.
  • To be responsible for developing commercial/contracting skills within the business providing a suite of training & experiential development for practitioners.
  • To maintain an active record of & be responsible for the business commercial risk exposure. Work with the executive team to define the Company's appetite to risk & report as required to the Board.


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience of creating the commercial framework for a business entering new markets
  • Knowledge of the housebuilding market
  • Experience in negotiating complex commercial issues and create innovative solutions.
  • Project Management experience including risk management
  • Strategic thinker
  • Knowledge of transforming business and developing new business and capabilities

  • Instinct to drive business performance - a natural ability to challenge perceived wisdom and drive towards solution-oriented action
