Essential to achieving our objectives is our collaborative working relationships with our Alliance partners. Working with Anglian Water and Kier, our Integrated Maintenance & Repair (IMR) alliance and Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) alliance cover water network and supply maintenance and construction, and are vital in keeping homes and businesses across the region operating as intended.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Performance for Water Services, this key role will see you providing the business stream with appropriate commercial management, financial assurance and risk management for the water alliances.

You will be the commercial lead for the water Integrated Maintenance and Repair (IMR) and the Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) alliances, ensuring the directorate for both alliances are provided with accurate commercial performance information. You will have a secondary reporting line to the Director of the IMR and the Head of Water Supply, providing commercial insight and challenge.

You'll lead and motivate an integrated alliance team to provide commercial management of water embedded alliance contracts, ensuring robust processes and systems are in place to enable delivery of accurate and timely reports.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure that framework contracts with alliance partners are established, managed and delivered to meet the business needs of the embedded alliances on a region-wide basis.
  • Maximise the business plan efficiencies through effective self-assurance strategies that can be implemented and used to support non operational stakeholders.
  • Provide advice, guidance and interpretation on all contractual and commercial matters for the embedded alliances to mitigate any contractual risk.

What do you need?

It's essential that you have a professional qualification or membership of professional body along with have significant experience in a Senior Management role, ideally in a utility services environment with demonstrable leadership skills. You'll also have an understanding of the wider Anglian Water business plan and targets.

With the ability to assess risks and make decisions, you'll work with a proactive and strategic approach as you adapt, challenge and change working practices. You'll have strong commercial awareness and have the ability to control and handle conflict and challenge.

It's ideal if you have experience of presenting and can confidently network in order to benchmark our practices.
