We're looking for a Communications Assistant to join our Highways team based in Gloucester to prepare and circulate Kier Highways A417 Missing Link information, regular staff newsletters, site newsletters and other internal communications as required to established deadlines. You'll also be responsible for the timely production of a wide range of external communications across a variety of media. To be successful in this role you'll need to be self-motivated and confident and be capable of building good working relationships with a wide range of people, both internal and external. Location: Gloucester - based at Southgate House in Gloucester with some remote working available

Contract: Permanent - Fulltime (flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know)

Salary: £28k FTE + £3.8k car allowance + benefits


Responsibilities

As a Communications Assistant, you'll ensure all communications, internal and external, adhere to brand, style and messaging guidelines and represent Kier values regardless of media

Your day to day will include:
  • prepare Kier Highways A417 Missing Link marketing and other externally focussed communications
  • ensure all notable events and activities from across the business are communicated as effectively as possible using the most appropriate methods, including social media and Microsites, as well as more traditional media
  • co-ordinate the photographic needs of the business, including maintaining a photographer/videographer list and arranging site and event photography and video as appropriate
  • work collaboratively with Kier Group and specifically the Highways communications team / PR Team in respect of external articles and press coverage
  • work with office and project teams to organise site/client events such as ground-breaking and topping out ceremonies


What are we looking for?

This role of Communications Assistant is great for you if have:
  • a degree level qualification in media, journalism or related discipline
  • experience gained working in a similar role within or as part of the corporate communications team
  • fully conversant with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and confident with publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop and social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn
