Introduction: The Communications Coordinator will assist the Communications Business Partner and provide support to the Communications & CSR Team in co-ordinating communications both internally and externally, ensuring consistency of message and brand protection. Responsibilities:
- KCL Communication plan - Assist the Communications Business Partner (CBP) and Communications Coordinator (CC) in the delivery of Kier Construction London's communication plan.
- KCL Newsflashes - Prepare and circulate basic Kier Construction London (KCL) Newsflashes and provide a support function to the CBP and Communications Coordinator (CC) in the preparation and circulation of more in depth Newsflashes.
- Group & Regional Buildings Comms support - Provide KCL related material and contributions needed for Group and Regional Building reports, campaigns, collateral and events.
- KCL Roadshow collateral - jointly arrange all and collateral for our annual company roadshow, linking with various departments in the business in preparation.
- New Starters onboarding process - Manage the New Starter Comms process which includes: Newsflashes, photo shoots and capabilities lists. Also help prepare components of the new starter induction pack.
- Safety, health and environmental (SHE) Comms - Provide essential comms support to the SHE department including posters designs and monthly PSL & SHE Updates.
- London News - source and collate information for the London news. Take responsibility for the full collations of certain sections of the newsletter e.g. social events, internal awards etc.
- Kier Group Website case studies and collateral - Source all relevant content (proof read by CBP) and upload it to the Kier Group portal for placement consideration.
- Social Media - Prepare and post KCL contributions to the Kier Construction Twitter account (guidance and info provided by CBP). Source and collate info for more in depth social media write ups by CBP.
- MyKier / Intranet - Planning MyKier areas with CBP and department heads, source all content and build general pages (main structure, guidance and training provided by CBP).
- Event management and collateral - arrange all aspects (catering, photography, invitations, gifts) of certain events and produce the relevant collateral (posters, flyers, brochures, attendee directories, presentations etc.) needed, for main site events e.g. topping outs, ground breakings, project launches etc.
- Marcomms Heads Up collateral - Provide KCL content for the weekly Group Heads Up Newsletter.
- Comms & CSR Team support- Provide support to the Comms & CSR team as and when needed e.g. CPR training days support.
- General Communication support to all staff by providing essential templates (site newsletters, departmental booklets etc.) and all other communications as required on time and to brand.
- Research and info sourcing for CBP - Support the CBP with regards to external articles and press coverage. Source relevant material as and when needed.
- Kier Connect Boards - Responsible for all Kier Connect boards on site - liaising directly with sites, purchasing boards when needed and sending relevant content to site representatives on a monthly basis).
- Educated to a degree level or currently studying a degree in a relevant discipline such as communication, marketing, media, public relations, journalism or a related discipline would be an advantage.
- Experience working as part of a Corporate Communications or Marketing team in a significant-sized business.
- Experience should include responsibility for obtaining and collating information prior to producing documents and/or other materials within brand and style guidelines
- An aptitude for document layout and graphic design is essential.
- Needs to be fully conversant with Microsoft Office products including Word Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills in InDesign is preferred.
- Knowledge of other publishing tools such as Acrobat and Photoshop would be an advantage.
- Aptitude for event management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of social media and non-printed forms of communication is essential.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, Oracle, CRM software systems and WordPress is an advantage.
