Job Introduction

Our client is a fast-paced, fast-growing multi-national, automotive division of an international group, they require an experienced and driven Communications and Learning Specialist to join our expanding operation in Co. Carlow.

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate, as they will get the opportunity to develop the learning management function within the company.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the learning function at the plant to ensure that learning courses are correctly sourced, planned, effective, consistent and recorded to meet legislative, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation of the new Workday learning management system.
  • Develop and manage the TNA for the company on an annual basis.
  • Gather and analyse data including learning metrics & KPIs.
  • Update supporting documentation including the learning matrix, qualification matrix and competency matrix.
  • Co-ordinate all learning activities in compliance within audit and plant requirements.
  • Manage the Learning Management System to optimise the recording, assigning and tracking of learning and to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Co-ordinate learning requirements for on the job training, the implementation of change management & for new equipment, working with operations and the management team.
  • Ensure that standardised methods for delivery, recording and reporting of learning are in place and are being adhered to across the site. (Both online and in-person learning).
  • Identify and implement improvements in the learning process and systems to ensure the outstanding approach to learning.
  • Handle the tracking of any claims for site learning grants and assist with future learning grant applications.
  • Support the site continuous improvement program through leading and facilitating events and promoting employee engagement with CI.
  • Co-ordinate the work schedules of the trainers with the Shift Managers to ensure that operational learning goals and flexibility targets are achieved.
  • Support apprenticeship-learning activities.
  • Involvement in Internal and Company Audits - Customer, TISAX, Labour & Employment Audit, ISO9001, IATF16949, MAFACT, EH&S, ISO45001, ISO14001, HR, and Compliance.
  • Understand your role in managing learning data with regard to GDPR policies and processes.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Knowledge and Education

  • HR and/or QQI Training Qualification desirable. Train the Trainer (QQI Level 6) an advantage.
  • Proven experience in a HR, Administration or Learning.
  • Understanding of training needs, learning planning, learning matrixes, training policies & procedures.
  • Excellent MS Office and ability to learn new software required.
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to mandatory learning requirements is an advantage.
