Summary

Gleeson Homes have an excellent opportunity for an Communications Manager. The purpose of the role is to support the Marketing Director in providing strategic communications to a companywide audience, as well as to external stakeholders - ensuring that employees at all levels are kept up to date with relevant strategic, operational and other information, whilst also supporting the communication of the corporate narrative to external audiences.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the position:


* Ensure the Company's strategy, initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to internal and ex-ternal stakeholders.


* Work closely and in collaboration with the Executive team, heads of department and managers to estab-lish organisational messaging interventions.


* In collaboration with the Marketing Director, to develop and maintain an internal communications strat-egy and communications plan to support Gleeson objectives.


* To accurately and efficiently deliver all internal communications in accordance with the internal communi-cations strategy, ensuring communication messages are consistent and in line with Gleeson marketing strategy


* To continually develop and deliver the Hub content, driving interest with current topical information and communication pieces to ensure this is the go to source for all staff communication and engagement ac-tivity, whilst using data analytics to provide direction and feedback for ongoing improvements.


* Assist the Executive team in drafting and preparing messages or presentations in accordance with the ap-propriate tone and reflective of the Gleeson brand, in written or verbal form.


* Proactively collaborate with stakeholders across the business, building strong working relationships to ensure support can be provided for internal change programmes through the creation of appropriate communication plans.


* To apply creative, innovative and fresh thinking ideas to convert complex information into clear proposals and engaging content that is appropriate and applicable for internal and external customers through var-ying communication channels that are fit for purpose and the audience, to maximise engagement with key messages.


* To plan, edit and write, relevant and accurate content to inform and engage the target audience in rela-tion to both internal Gleeson Colleagues, stakeholders and external partners and stakeholders.


* Provide and maintain a framework for effective communication channels and processes for other internal stakeholders to have access to and apply in order to maximise the power and reach of the appropriate, relevant and on-brand communication style across the business that is in accordance with the Gleeson brand to enable colleagues to positively represent the brand at all times.


* Working closely with the Marketing Director to handle any internal communication response to crisis situ-ations, professionally and efficiently, which affect the organisational perception and reputation.


* Provide key status reports and updates to the Marketing Director on all matters relating to the agreed Communication strategy and subsequent initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

* Marketing / communications Degree or CIM qualification
* Experience in relevant communications roles, working closely with senior executives
* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with experience in writing for different audiences
* Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiating, and relationship-building with the ability to deal confidently with senior colleagues and explain communication techniques to them.
* Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of digital media tools and how they can be used to connect and influence engagement
* Experience of employee engagement activities
* Understands stakeholder communications, internal communications and employee engagement
* Previous experience supervising and training team members
* Experience in a similar role, where crafting communications strategy and plans are central
