- Prepare composite materials and lay-ups based on engineering specifications.
- Cut, trim, and shape composite materials using hand tools and equipment.
- Apply adhesives, resins, and bonding agents to composite materials.
- Ensure proper positioning and alignment of composite materials to achieve desired product specifications.
- Monitor and maintain temperature and pressure levels during curing process.
- Inspect and quality check finished composite products to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the lamination process.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to optimise product designs and improve production processes.
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Proven experience as a Composite Laminator or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of composite materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, and resins.
- Familiarity with various lamination techniques, such as hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, and autoclave curing.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and composite lay-up machinery.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and advancements in composites.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and lift heavy materials, if required.
