THE ROLE
I am seeking a construction BUYER to join my client, a firm of construction specialists in the OSLO, NORWAY area.
Good English is essential as this is a multi national team.
You will work on the buying of all elements of new data centre projects including infrastructure, the building, the MEP Engineering works etc.
Good experience of construction buying, negotiation of contracts etc. is absolutely essential.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can work closely with the project management team and the quantity surveyors joining a new division of an established company.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful and friendly firm of construction consultants providing cost management, employers agent, MEP cost management and now buying services to private and corporate clients.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an experienced construction Buyer.
Good English is essential. If you speak any Norwegian or Swedish that would be useful but is not essential.
You will need to be working for a main contractor or similar in a construction buying role currently.
Experience of buying for complex projects (data centres or similar construction projects ) with a lot of MEP is preferred.
You will need to have a good understanding of all building and some mechanical and electrical materials and their alternatives.
You should be able to read construction drawings.
You will have good overall technical knowledge of construction procedures.
You must have significant experience of negotiation of prices, able to deal and set up a supply chain of suppliers, etc.
You should be able to work without supervision.
You must be from the EU or have an EU visa.
Salary is very negotiable according to your experience plus discretionary bonus, accommodation and flights can also be provided if required.
