Laing O'Rourke are looking for a well-rounded construction manager to join our project team in Brighton. The construction manager will be involved in the project from enabling works through to completion. The candidate will be responsible for multiple packages concurrently and ensuring programmes and activities are coordinated throughout the project and to an agreed programme. The role also includes compliance on and off site with regards to safety, environmental and quality requirements, working with a wider HSE and Quality management team.
As you would be involved in the enabling works stage, lifting AP experience is essential.
Sub-contract Management:
- Writing Scope of Works (SoW) for sub-contracts
- Working with the planning function to write programmes for scope of works and reviewing sequence with other trades
- Method Statement/ITP/Quality Plan/Material Approvals-responsible for the review and coordination of sub-contractors documentation in line with programme
- Report progress against a programme on a daily/weekly basis
- Monitor labour and material resource levels for each package
- Chair and assist package interface meeting in both design and construction space
- Package management experience/sub-contract experience-managing change, progress, commercial and quality elements
Technical Skills:
- Ideally Degree qualified in Construction management or Civil engineering or with relevant industry experience
- Appointed person for lifting
- IOSH/SMSTS or equivalent safety accreditation
- Engineering contract types such as NEC
- Understand and create programmes/schedules of work
