Managing two construction engineers, you will be working together on this contract to ensure that the programme runs smoothly, efficiently and safely.

For this particular position your main responsibilities will include:

*Ensure the works are being built correctly to specification. Advise / suggest construction methods, technical detail, alternatives, Value Engineering etc.
*Input into the weekly programmes, disseminate the programmes to the team and work closely with the foremen to ensure activities are carried out as planned
*Ensure the planned works are able to progress on time with regard to availability of permits, RAMS, setting out / model info
*Chase TQ's / RFI's to ensure answers are given promptly and are favourable to us where possible
*Identify CE's / additional works and notify Commercial team. Ensure a thorough understanding of the subcontract and what works we are required to carry out.
*Identify NCR's and report promptly to avoid disallowed costs
*Set up procedures to ensure information is available for KPI's
*Liaise with Client to ensure that good relations are maintained, works are available as programmed, interfaces are planned, problems are solved and value engineering solutions are discussed.
*Ensure safety standards are upheld and engineering staff are actively engaged in the promoting and policing.
*Mentor / motivate engineering staff and ensure they are given a suitable level of responsibility. Must be willing and able to manage junior staff and deal with the Clients senior management in the absence of the Senior Project Manager.

If you believe you have the right skills and experience for this role, you will also need to demonstrate:
*Knowledge of earthworks, highways construction generally, and NEC option C target cost contracts is desirable.
*An ability to work well with all levels of staff from all backgrounds
*Relevant professional qualification HNC, HND or degree qualified
*Valid CSCS
