McGinley are seeking an experienced Site Chargehand to lead a construction gang in the delivery of high-quality cycle paths. This role requires hands-on leadership, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You will be responsible for coordinating a small team, managing daily site activities, and liaising with site managers to ensure project deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team. Oversee the installation of cycle paths, including excavation, drainage, kerbing, and surfacing. Ensure work is completed in line with project specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Coordinate materials, plant, and equipment to maintain productivity. Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments. Liaise with engineers, site managers, and other contractors to ensure smooth project delivery. Identify and resolve on-site challenges to keep the project on track. Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials used, and workforce hours. Requirements: Previous experience as a Site Chargehand, Foreman, or Lead Groundworker. Strong background in civils, groundworks, drainage, kerbing, and tarmac laying. Ability to read and interpret site drawings and specifications. Gold CSCS Card (or relevant supervisory qualification). SSSTS or SMSTS certification (preferred). First Aid at Work certification (desirable). Experience operating or supervising plant machinery (dumper, roller, excavator) is an advantage. Full UK Driving Licence.
