Title: Contract Manager

Location: Dundee and Falkirk

Project: Scotia Gas Networks

Kier Services Utilities Scotland currently have two new Contract Manager positions available to oversee Major Frameworks for our blue chip client in the Gas Industry. We are looking for one position to be based from our Falkirk office and the other from Dundee and will manage both direct labour and subcontractors ensuring that all aspects of the contract are adhered to and achieved.

  • Attend monthly financial contract review meetings
  • Responsible for financial performance of contract/s and maximise margin
  • To be responsible for the invoicing and payment process
  • Professional in appearance clean and tidy at all times
  • Flexible in attitude and aptitude
  • Development of strategies to fully maximise the benefits available from the utilisation of directly employed and subcontractors
  • Attendance at monthly meetings with both senior management and client
  • Ensure all monthly reports and forms are completed and forwarded to appropriate departments and clients
  • Responsible for developing client relationships to ensure retention of contract and future opportunities
  • Overall responsibility for portfolio of contracts in relation to performance both financially and in line contract requirements
  • Manage a team of mobile/static workforce with an element of administration and subcontractor management
  • Ensure clear communication with workforce, customers, line management, office support staff, subcontractors and third party suppliers
  • Provide technical and admin support to the client and support staff
  • Responsible for delivery of services in line with contract KPI's/SLA's
  • Responsible for the undertaking of quality assurance inspections on a predetermined amount of all works delivered and record
  • Responsibility to supply additional/remedial works as required in an efficient, profitable and safe manner
  • Report training needs within team
  • Continually demonstrate an understanding and commitment to customer care
  • Maintain and improve effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, customers and work as part of a team
  • Deal courteously with clients, customers and the general public to maintain and enhance the reputation of Kier
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the auditing of records of all work carried out on plant and equipment within the site manuals both hard copies and electronic
  • To be part of a management out of hours rota liaising with clients, workforce and subcontractors

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry qualifications or equivalent UK standard
  • Good communicator, verbally and written, and have a good level of computer literacy
  • Managing ISOH Certificate
  • CSCS Card
  • Knowledge of statuary requirements and current legislation
  • Substantial practical experience
  • Recognised apprenticeship, NVQ or equivalent training programme, qualifications are relevant to skill base (refer to trade description), relevant management training
  • Have an in-depth knowledge and experience in building services, statuary regulations and compliance
