Large Timber Frame Projects
Midlands and South
£40,000 - £45,000 per year + CAR and Package
With an increasing focus on large technically demanding projects this key player in the timber frame market wish to recruit a high calibre Contracts Manager to join its committed team.
Large timber frame manufacturing company with an excellent track record. Involved in a broad range of residential and commercial construction work in the UK.
Projects are largely Midlands and South though flexibility is required to work across the UK as required.
You will ideally have:
- Relevant building qualification
- Significant experience in construction management
- Broad and in depth understanding of all aspects of construction
- Appropriate safety certs/cards including a CSCS Card, a CPCS Card, an IPAF / MEWP Card, and Site Managers Safety Training Scheme Cert SMSTS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full clean driving licence
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of detailed erecting plans including erecting programs, safety / method statements, lifting plans and all other necessary documentation
- Assisting the commercial team in preparing project budgets and time frames at tender/pre-contract stage
- Liaising with the commercial team to ensure a complete understanding of all commercial issues including budget, time frames, scope of works and client's variations process
- Liaising with the design and engineering department to ensure a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of each project
- Liaising with clients throughout to ensure site is ready, safe and accessible
- Developing a database of approved erecting contractors and selecting appropriate erecting teams
- Ensuring works are carried out to agreed standards and specifications, time frames and budgets
- Act as primary contact for client on all site operation and safety issues. Deal with all site related queries to ensure smooth running of site works
- Manage on-site project variations process to ensure all variations are paid without dispute (i.e. follow rigidly the clients variations process).
- Monitor project progress and liaise in writing with the customer to ensure the company is protected from a claim for damages (e.g. from variations, site readiness, access etc.)
- Liaising with the finance team to set the project plan pre-commencement and monitor and control site costs, approve all site related invoices ensuring site works come in on budget.

- Salary of £40,000 - £45,000
