Position: Contracts Manager
Location: Birmingham
Job type: Permanent
Monday- Friday 8am- 5pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break
We are looking for a Contracts Manager in Birmingham. This position will be working for a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Company. The position is an office based, client facing role. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of M&E HVAC maintenance contracts reporting directly to the regional manager. This position requires great communication skills, be this face to face or remotely along with an attention to detail and the flexibility to suit client requirements.
This role would suit a committed, driven individual with an engineering & maintenance background looking to develop and progress in a management career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Control purchases sub-contractor/costs for their region
- Respond to client requests and attend meeting when required gaining client confidence
- Assist with the development of key client relationships
- Manage and route engineers to the contracts under your supervision
- Be part of the managers/ supervisors on call rota system
- Assist with recruitment process to suit company growth
- Attend contract handover meetings for new sites
- Assist line manager with contractual targets- site visits, service visits and repairs carried out
- Operate and conform to office/ company systems
- Attend regular monthly managers meetings
- Ensure that your teams reports reaches the office as requested and to the deadlines set. This includes your own
- Assist the sales team regarding new business, assisting with tenders and presentations as required
- Ensure that sub-contractors used on your sites are carrying out work in accordance with company instructions
- Be available to attend internal and external meetings
- Understanding the various office systems
- Manage sales/ financial queries with applicable internal departments
- Be responsible for clear and accurate reporting to your line manager
- Ensure overtime is carried out in accordance with company instructions
- Supervising over-time when requested
- Arrange site cover during your engineers annual leave and sickness periods
- Ensure all logbooks and CAFM systems and correctly filled in on all sites you are responsible for
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
- UK Manual drivers license
- Knowledge of M&E systems within commercial properties
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Technology Literate including use of MS Office, laptop, tablets etc
- Fluent in English
- Able to work in a pressured environment
PREFERRED:
- Level 3 qualification or higher in a mechanical, electrical or HVAC discipline
- At least 2 years previous experience in a management level position
- Experience of managing a large portfolio and prestigious buildings
You will also get external training courses given to you and internal training provided mentored by Regional Manager.
