Location: Flexible working available, where you can be based from one of our Cardiff, Loughton, Basingstoke or Sheffield offices, with home working available and some travel to other offices

Business Area: Kier Places - Capital Projects - Preconstruction team

Contract & hours: Permanent, part time, 3 days per week (of your choice), circa 8 hours per day

Kier Places are recruiting now for a Contracts Officer / Governance Manager to join our Capital Projects Preconstruction team, and support us in governance and commercial related matters at Pre Con stage. This role will be focused on supporting and delivering the Kier Places Governance requirements as outlined in the Project Lifecycle Monitoring process and Delegated Authorities; and provide support on any other commercial, legal and governance issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities

As a Contracts Officer / Governance Manager with Kier Capital Projects, you'll be trusted to

  • Act as front-line support to the business pre-construction team delivering proportionate governance to the business to support submission of bids & tenders
  • Support contract mobilisations & queries, and other related tasks. This will include ensuring all tenders are submitted in line with the relevant business Delegated Authorities
  • Prepare & contribute to various governance template forms as part of the tender and contract process (e.g. PTPN/PTPA/SAM/SOT)
  • Review tender documents, assess the main risks/opportunities, and report in detail to the tender team.
What do we need from you?

To be a Contracts Officer / Governance Manager within Kier, you'll need:

  • Strong stakeholder management,
  • Interpersonal relationship & communication skills, enabling you to effectively present to teams (circa 15 people),
  • Communicate of a high standard through written word, and be comfortable challenging colleagues on governance-related matters.
  • Previous legal & financial/commercial experience, with experience in a similar role
