Location: Blackwall Tunnel (London)

Contract: Permanent, Full time (this role is site based, 4on/4off shift pattern - days and nights)

Salary: Up to £30k + 26 days of annual leave + Benefits



Responsibilities

As Control Centre Operator, you'll support the team as a single point of contact and incident response service via a 24-hour service control centre providing support to our London contracts including Highways Maintenance Project Framework (HMPF) and Tunnels and Pump Stations (TaPS) for our Client TFL.

Your day to day will include:

  • Working with Visual Display Units and other IT related equipment
  • Acting as a first point of contact for the Business and being responsible for ensuring that the appropriate course of action is taken for each issue reported
  • Handling the telephone calls from the police and local authorities relating incidents on the Network
  • Prioritising incoming calls/demands and make appropriate decisions and monitor Incident Support Unit whereabouts
  • Deploy and manage resources at incidents on the Network and maintain contact with the London Traffic Control Centre during an incident
Who are we looking for?

This role of Control Centre Operator is great for you if you have:

  • Working knowledge of Office 2000 applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Both written and verbal skills in order to effectively communicate with partners and emergency resources through various methods including telephone, radio and data terminals
  • Ability to work under own instruction as well in the team, multi task, manage and prioritise own work load
