Key Responsibilities
You will interpret geographical information using GIS tools, it will be crucial to communicate with partners and emergency resources through various methods including telephone, radio and data terminals. You will be part of a team that look after a 24/7, 365 days a year control centre on a shift based rota (days and nights), you will need to act as first point of contact for the business and be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate course of action is taken for each issue reported. Handle telephone calls from the police and local authorities relating to incidents on the network, you will prioritise incoming calls/demands & make appropriate decisions, monitor incident support unit whereabouts. You will manage resources at incidents on the network and liaise with deployed resources to ensure additional support is correctly identified and provided. Input incident data on to a computer database, update and finalise incident logs as necessary. A key part of the role will be populating spreadsheets in support of daily report requirements.
What do we need from you?
- Strong communication skills, must be able to demonstrate these clearly and effectively, both written and verbally
- Experience of working under pressure & having to muti-task
- Adaptable to change
- Able to manage and prioritise own work load
- Excellent IT skills, experienced in the use of Microsoft Office products
