Role
The Controls Project Engineer will report directly to the Controls Operations Manager and is essential for the successful delivery, profitability, and continuous improvement of the controls department. The role involves managing active projects efficiently to enhance project profitability and ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience with Building Automation Systems specifically Tridium/Niagara or Honeywell Spyder
- Support Sales with pre-sales activities including tender reviews, quote generation, and relationship building
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for projects
- Approve and review project purchase orders
- Conduct effective Hand Over Meetings to communicate targets across the team
- Program Works and assign tasks and deadlines with Engineering Teams
- Coordinate with other teams within Airedale to ensure successful project delivery
- Update customers on project progress and deliverables
- Deliver project-related documentation including RFI's, Tech Subs, Des Ops, Points Lists, O&M's, etc.
- Approve Engineering teams' work before site deployment
- Manage sub-contractors at all levels
- Oversee material procurement for timely site activities commencement
- Guide and lead onsite personnel
- Manage project finances including Profit & Loss and site variations
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Drive innovation and best practices within the department
- Maintain repeat business and seek new opportunities
Required Education & Qualifications:
- Previous experience within a Critical Environment (data centers)
- Proven understanding of cooling systems
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and IT fluency
- Creative problem-solving abilities
- In-depth industry knowledge and technology expertise
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
- Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organization
- Positive, can-do attitude
