Kier Places have an exciting opportunity to recruit for a Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator to join us in this new role, to lead and deliver project activities related to Social Value and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) on a range of exciting, high profile projects, for customers in the public sector. The overall aim of this position is to support the development and implementation of the Social Value project across UK services, through coordinating and supporting social values programmes and activities, and acting as Social Value Champion by promoting social values to stakeholders both internally and externally. Ultimately, you'll support ensuring Kier Places are contributing and represented at Kier Group Level in respect of social value targets and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
As a focused & passionate member of the team, ensuring you understand and keep abreast of National Themes, we will look to you to effectively coordinate our Client Social Value Charters across the business for alignment of initiatives, and ensure Social Value & EDI activities are recorded and will support tender submissions and case studies.
Using your ability to engage & influence, you'll need to work collaboratively to establish relationships with various organisations across the UK with the aim of providing tangible and measurable benefit to the local communities in which we operate; work closely with our clients and stakeholders to understand their Social Value requirements to deliver an engaging and meaningful programme of social value initiatives (e.g. increasing local employment opportunities, developing basic work skills, environmental initiatives, educational programmes and local community engagement projects); work closely with our Bids team to advise and consult on Social Value deliverables for potential contracts; and participate in internal & external focus groups and committees to promote Social Value work.
We will trust you to actively promote and communicate Social Values to all stakeholders (including encouraging colleague commitment) across the business & be responsible for managing & reporting on multiple high-profile social value plans across the UK, which will include budget management to provide the cost-effective delivery of initiatives, produce analytical reports on a variety of metrics relating to the business & social values, and produce & present reports for the Executive Board Committee on Social Value & EDI.
What do we need from you?
Do you have experience of sourcing and successfully securing additional external funding for social projects; have experience of promoting and championing initiatives, such as social value, to internal & external stakeholders; and have experience delivering Social Value outcomes in a fast-moving corporate environment?
Are you an engaging & confident self-starter, with excellent presentation skills to stakeholders of all corporate levels, and an excellent ambassador who can identify and develop key relationships?

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who has good working knowledge of financial return on social value methodology, experience with social value calculator systems within the construction sector, experience with evidencing impact delivered to local communities, confidence in collating and interpreting data from multiple sources and generating board level reports.
Ideally, your background will be from a similar role within an environment relating to construction, local authorities & social landlords, and it would advantageous, but not essential, if you have exposure to the TOMs (Theme, Outcomes & Measures) methodology or Social Value Portal.
