Position - Corporate Social Responsibility Manager

Duration - This is a 10 month fixed term contract to start ASAP with possible extension

The opportunity:
Kier Northern is looking to recruit a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager to be based from our office in Speke, Liverpool. Reporting into the Operations Director, the successful post-holder will be responsible for planning and driving delivery of Social Impact and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities throughout the regional business and all of the associated construction projects.

The experienced candidate will be knowledgeable in all areas of Social Value, including the Social Value Act, Local Authority Social Value drivers and various framework requirements. The successful applicant will be Social Value (SV) champion to all internal and external stakeholders, able to advise on specific Social Value and community issues.

Responsibilities:
Drive CSR through the business and maximise its impact
  • Ensure the business aligns to the strategic Social Value objectives of Kier Group and 2020 Vision
  • Fully understand and communicate to the business Social Value drivers of construction frameworks, local authorities and private clients
  • Represent Kier on relevant external and internal social value working groups
  • Manage a wide network of stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Inspire and influence others to work collaboratively and achieve common goals.
Inter-departmental working
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to focus CSR activity around key clients and target sectors for future work
  • Contribute to bids in the form of CSR question responses
  • Develop and communicate appropriate CSR strategy and project plans
  • Collaborate with in-house procurement teams and supply chain partners to support and deliver target commitments
Operations
  • Establish local contacts and develop and grow relationships to support social value agendas.
  • Support regional construction projects with the delivery of CSR plans and contract commitments.
  • Develop tools and best practice guides
  • Map, monitor, report and evidence all elements of CSR activity on a monthly basis.
  • Database input of defined criteria within 'Social Impact Platform'
  • CSR related Administration duties

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work and communicate at all levels in a way that encourages two-way communication. Comfortable with both groups and individuals.

  • Manages multiple tasks.
  • Takes ownership of and resolves straightforward problems quickly and effectively.
  • Builds alliances inside and outside the business to meet strategic objectives.
  • Proactively builds good relationships with customers and reviews service levels to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Experience of preparing and managing projects
  • CSCS appropriate level of qualification an advantage
  • Knowledge of construction industry an advantage
