Introduction:
Kier Major Projects is looking to recruit a Cost Clerk, who will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial support to the Managing Quantity Surveyor for the administration of the contract. Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that commercial and administrative systems, budgets and cost control procedures are utilized
  • Process material and plant delivery notes; ensuring that all purchased items reconcile to the original PO and or requesting PO amendments where required
  • Liaising with all supply chain members to ensure that all accounts and payments reconcile
  • Resolve any internal invoice queries that may arise from the commercial department
  • Processing subcontractor payments on behalf of the lead QS, recording and referencing all invoices and applications to allow the cost recovery in the monthly applications for payments to the client
  • Providing and referencing all pass-through costs for the lead QS to allow the cost recovery via the monthly application for payment to the client.
  • Provide quotes for the client for planned reactive works above the spend threshold.
  • Ensure Contract commercial deliverables and timescales are met
  • Work closely with operations team to understand works process
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept and full entitlement under the contract is achieved
  • Carry out any additional duties as reasonably required by your line management

  • Skills and experience required:
  • Minimum 5 GCSE's (A-C)
  • Proficient in use of IT systems and bespoke company systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate good customer service
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Confident liaising with both internal and external colleagues
