Cost Planner Job in Sevenoaks
Cost Planner job for a successful multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks (opportunity to be based out of their London office for more Senior Cost Planners) working on new build residential, high-rise and major urban regeneration projects in London and Home Counties. Our client is looking for a Cost Planner from either a main contractor, developer or consultancy background with strong experience in cost planning for high-rise residential / major urban regeneration projects, all seniority levels will be considered. The role offers a salary of between £50k - £80k dependent on your level of seniority + Discretionary bonus + Travel + support with professional accreditations.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services including project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential, affordable housing, major regeneration and remedial projects for developers, RPs, and Local Authorities. Made up of around 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London, Southeast and Midlands.
Role & Responsibilities
- Production of cost plans for new build / high-rise residential projects
- Supporting clients by producing accurate and competitive cost estimates
- Client liaison and attending design team meetings
- Preparation of Cost / Benefit analysis of design options Ensuring all costs are tracked & validated
- Client-side valuations and certification
- Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
- Reviewing and analysing Main Contractors Tender submissions
- Cost comparison and main contractor selection
- Tendering of large subcontract packages
- Cost exercises for clients including Value Engineering Tendering
- Deal with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years' experience in cost planning / estimation for main contractor, consultancy or developer
- Residential high-rise / major urban regeneration project experience
- Knowledge of cladding / façade packages
- Experienced in developing cost plans from drawings
- Working knowledge of Cost X
- Understanding of JCT Design and Build contracts
- RICS Accredited Degree or 'time-served' to commence relevant accreditation (MRICS / MCIOB)
- UK Driving Licence and own car
