Cost Planner / Estimator Job in Sevenoaks
Cost Planner / Estimator job for growing multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks, Kent. Working on town centre high-rise, mixed-use developments in London and the Southeast. Offering a salary of up to £60k + Bonus + Travel + Excellent progression opportunities. You will be joining a growing cost consultancy team with a strong pipeline of new build residential and major urban regeneration projects for the public sector. We are looking for a Cost Planner / Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with 2+ years' experience in cost planning for residential or commercial new build projects. Consultancy, Main Contractor or developer backgrounds all considered.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services including project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential and affordable housing projects for developers, Housing Associations and Local Authorities. Made up of around 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London and the Southeast.
Role & Responsibilities
- Working with mainly Local Authority, Housing Associations, and developer clients
- Cost Planning from RIBA Stage 0-3
- Supporting clients by producing accurate and competitive cost estimates
- Preparation of Cost / Benefit analysis of design options
- Client-side valuations and certification
- Track and validate costs
- Client liaison and attending design team meetings
- Main contractor valuation certificates
- Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
- Reviewing and analysing Main Contractors Tender submissions
- Cost comparison and main contractor selection
- Tendering of large subcontract packages
- Cost benchmarking
- Deal with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years' experience as a Cost Planner / Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
- Residential or commercial new build or major urban regeneration experience
- Experience in detailed cost planning RIBA Stages 0-3
- Consultancy, Developer or Main contractor experience
- Understanding of JCT Design and Build contracts
- Experience in Bluebeam would be advantageous but training can be provided
- Quantity Surveying Degree
- UK Driving Licence and own car.
