Protocol is delighted to be working with an education provider in South Yorkshire in the recruitment to the position of Course Leader for Electrical Installation.
The post holder will act as a course leader for Electrical Installation and teach on a range of courses.
You would also help set up new courses and methods of curriculum delivery and to contribute to the overall growth and development of the department.
Role responsibilities
Line manage members of staff who spend most of their time working on the course or courses that you lead
Lead a course or courses and contribute to the review, planning and development of the curriculum.
Develop new courses, curricula and/or methods of delivery.
Develop new teaching and learning materials.
To be responsible for student retention, attendance, achievement and success rates for named courses/cohorts of students.
Plan and prepare schemes of work.
Formally teach on a range of courses through a variety of methods.
Devise and apply a range of assessment activities.
Verify and certificate work as appropriate.
Provide tutorial support and to support and guide learners as appropriate.
Contribute to the enrolment and marketing process for new and future learners including interviews, assessments, schools events and promotions.
Undertake initial and diagnostic assessment of students.
Monitor individual learning plans for learners and update them where necessary.
Lead IQA duties within the subject area
The person & qualifications
A level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
A minimum level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation
IQA qualification (or willingness to work towards)
Line management experience (desirable)
A minimum of 2 years teaching experience
Course Leadership experience (desirable)
Knowledge of curriculum review, development and planning strategies as appropriate
Ability to devise strategies to improve attendance, retention, achievement and success rates
Supportive ability to give clear and constructive feedback to students to guide learning
Understanding and knowledge of the pastoral needs of learners
Knowledge of a range of teaching methodologies
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to analyse and interpret data and utilise this to generate solutions
