Creative Container Designer

£££ Salary up to £40,000
Over the last 10 years our client has created, trained and developed a team of people involved in the production of container conversions, including CAD designers, Production Managers, Quality systems, welders etc. They are now looking for a Designer of creative container projects to join their dynamic team in the Suffolk region.
Over this time Shipping containers have also grown in popularity for other uses including events, retail outlets (both shops and food/ drink), homes, off grid living and office accommodation. Our client is in an excellent position to capitalise on the growth of these softer uses and are therefore seeking someone with the relevant experience to help develop this opportunity at the front end.
Responsible for:
- Working as part of the Conversions & Modular Project team
- An ability to convert warm leads for container conversions
- Working with the client to develop these enquiries and prospects into project drawings (2D and 3D) from which they can be turned into reality
- Liaising with colleagues on specification, construction detail, eventual delivery and installation of projects
Main tasks
- Networking with relevant contacts through Business clubs, Trade Associations, Trade Shows and social media
- Arranging site & client visits with suitable prospects
- Generating quotations & designing / specifying suitable solutions for the client
- Creating 2D and 3D drawings as required
- Following up quotations & closing sales
- Work with Commercial Director & Finance Manager for PQQ and tendering process as required
- Working with in house CAD team and checking drawings to meet client specification
Key Requirements:
- Qualification in a one of the following - Architecture, Film/Theatre/Set Design, Product Design, Container Conversion
- Design experience using 2D / 3D softwares
- Knowledge of steel fabrications and projects
- Computer literate, capable of generating artistic impressions in 3D
- AutoCAD and/or similar 2D/3D modelling softwares
- Driving Licence
