About the role
Kier are currently looking to recruit a Delivery Manager for our Falcon Cities Projects with our Client Openreach. You will be based out of Falkirk, you will be predominantly office based but with regular site visits. This role will assist with our contracts throughout Scotland.
Job Description
You will be working into the Openreach Operations Manager. Your role will be to ensure we get the best out of Direct Labour and Supplier Resource on site on a day-to-day basis. Making sure safe systems of work are always followed and to a quality standards and we are delivering to high standards for our Client.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and coaching of Supply Chain and Direct Labour.
- Enforcing Safety and weekly checks amongst Direct Labour Team and Supply Chain.
- Working alongside the Programme Manager in delivering weekly glides.
- Attending weekly meetings with Programme team to ensure we are delivering together and aligned to client requirements.
- Attending weekly Direct Labour & Supply Chain meetings to ensure we are delivering together and aligned to client requirements.
- Working alongside Supplier & Direct Labour Teams and Civils Supervisors ensuring all civils for associated PON's are completed for the following weeks hopper build as directed by Project Delivery Manager, to ensure we have no glitches on the following weeks delivery or flagging any issues that could prevent delivery and any opportunities we could start early.
- Lead by example on Quality ensuring teams are following quality standards on the back of all Spine and PON build works keeping defects to a minimum.
- Dealing with customer complaints and ensuring it is dealt with and closed with immediate effect.
- Working in conjunction FTTP Delivery Co-Ordinators to ensure all estimates have suitable start dates and all works have been completed for PON's on our DepotNET system to show an accurate reflection to our programme team.
- Working in conjunction FTTP Delivery Co-Ordinators to ensure all estimates have been closed when all work have been completed all costs are claimed correctly by Direct Labour and Sub Con.
- Provide direction and governance through the Supply Chain & Direct Labour to deliver improvements in line with any agreed Streetwork's, quality or safety improvement plans.
- Regular spot checks / audits on Supply Chain & Direct Labour gangs ensure works are being carried out safely to Kier's Health and Safety guidelines. Ensure this is being followed daily and keep forcing the agenda to drive continuity and competency.
- Ensure all teams are fully accredited and competent for the tasks they are carrying out.
- Assisting meet the business units KPI's, identifying area for improvements to the Operations Manager against the key measures to continually improve performance.
- Working with the client and local OR teams to achieve successful delivery and any issues to help resolve in a timely manner that maintains continuity throughout the build.
- Sponsor and support new ways of working which would improve delivery and service then support any activities being undertaken to implement change.
- Ensure Suppliers and Direct Labour are using Kier App's such as Risk Assessments & SafeCheck to ensure all checks are being undertaken.
- M23 Accredited and fully accredited
- Telecoms experience required
- MT003/SA001/SA002/NRSWA Supervisor - Training can be provided for any further modules
- Good Microsoft Excel & Office experience required
- Ability to understand and implement agreed plans which support the needs of the business and support operational effectiveness.
- The ability to work collaboratively with Stakeholders both within the client spectrum and suppliers.
