Location: Shrewsbury / Oswestry / Craven Arms, Shropshire

Contract: Full time

Responsibilities

As Delivery Manager you'll be working within the schemes team, supporting them in managing a dedicated team of supervisors and site teams, planning/programming, managing and improving health & safety culture of site teams for reactive, routine, minor works, schemes, street lighting and structures ensuring works are delivered safely on budget and to delivery target dates.

Your day to day will include:
  • Managing all areas of highway works, including general highway construction works, structures schemes and environmental projects routine and reactive works, emergency response and winter maintenance and responsible for health safety and wellbeing of direct employees and the supply chain to meet and exceed SHE targets
  • Working with the relevant Quantity Surveyor to ensure works are built/delivered in the same way they are priced and where necessary with the agreed supply chain support, programming and delivery of all projects across the contract via supply chain partner and direct employees
  • Collaborating with the Finance Manager to ensure forecasts and budgets are managed with accuracy across the contract, making sure cost control procedures are followed to meet and exceed financial targets, delivering monthly contract reports to the contract board covering SHE, operational and financial performance, developing and pushing profit improvement plans to ensure productivity and performance is improved year on year
  • Having close contact with Shropshire Council and partners, fostering positive open style relationships, ensuring systems and processes are specific to the Shropshire Contract, and they are delivered and implemented such that targets are achieved or indeed exceeded
  • Applying revised processes and procedures to ensure compliance with the requirements of the contract quality management systems, guaranteeing policies of the company and clients are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
Who are we looking for?

This role of Delivery Manager is great for you if you can:
  • Demonstrate experience in construction and highways works at a managerial level
  • Show a valid driving licence, TWS training and SSMTS
  • Understand fleet management
