Locum Dental Nurse

Dental Nurse - Essential Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) without any restrictions.
  • Possession of valid and appropriate indemnity insurance from a recognized dental defense organization.
  • Evidence of clinical currency, as per JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4, Returning to Clinical Practice, which includes a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the past 15 months.
  • Completion of highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required by the GDC, covering areas such as medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, and radiography and radiation protection.
  • Training and current knowledge in emergency and resuscitation procedures, with annual practice and testing in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1 DMS CPR Standards and Training.
  • Completion of additional health clearance checks for clinicians performing Exposure Prone Procedures, following the Department of Health policy on "Health clearance for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV: New Healthcare Workers."

  • Joining a multidisciplinary team and working in well-equipped medical centers, dental centers, or rehabilitation units as a valued member of the Defense Medical Services team.
  • Providing a professional and personal service at all times.
  • Ability to work alongside military personnel on Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force bases to deliver an exceptional standard of care for service personnel and their families at certain locations.
