Protocol are working with a fantastic East Midlands based college to recruit an experienced Dental Nursing Assessor on a full-time fixed term basis.
As one of the largest Further Education providers in the country, this college offers a huge range of vocational and academic courses, helping their students find routes into higher education or their dream career. This establishment are invested in the welfare and future for every learner and we are keen to hear from Dental Assessors who share the same vision and values.
This education powerhouse is looking to bolster its Health and Science provision Team by on-boarding a dynamic Dental Nursing professional to continually inspire learners and strive to deliver top-class learning within a college and workplace setting.
Role responsibilities
Complete the full assessment of the allocated caseload learners
Complete online portfolios
Travel to visit learners in the workplace
Assess and train students of all abilities in the vocational area, testing of skill and related knowledge. This could be conducted in the workplace or College and could involve local or national travel depending on the area of work.
Take responsibility for a caseload of students ensuring timely completion within agreed timescales appropriate for level and individual needs.
Effectively enrol, induct, train, review, asses, and track learners on programme using the standard paperwork and updating IT systems such as eTrack. This includes recording of the Individual Learner Journey and target setting.
Ensure the registration and certification of all learners is completed accurately and in a timely manner as per the awarding organisation requirements.
Continually develop training and assessment programmes that meet individual needs of students and promote their achievement at the optimum pace of the student.
Work in Partnership with employers to develop training programmes to meet their bespoke needs.
Liaise with other college members of staff as and when required
Support students both academically and pastorally
Motivate and inspire students to achieve excellent results ensuring students are equipped with the employability skills and knowledge to support employment in their chosen specialist field and/or progress on to the higher levels of education within their specialism.
Provide students with comprehensive, detailed assessment and progress review feedback in conjunction with the employer to ensure opportunities for learning progression are identified. and off the job training recorded
Assist students with action planning, evidencing progress and achievements and support them with the use of e-learning platforms to develop on and off-the-job learning and development of skills and knowledge.
Identify and support opportunities for developing learner's English / maths and ICT skills both on programme and through workplace activity
Identify students' (and employers where applicable) needs and provide appropriate support, advice and guidance, referring to specialists and other staff as required.
Maintaining effective data relating to student targets, progression, assessment activities and achievement, from evidence generated through training and assessment activity in College or from their place of work.
Adhere to college policies including Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity
The person & qualifications
Assessing experience within level 3 Dental Nursing courses
Hold a minimum level 3 qualification
Registered with the general dental council
Hold an Assessing qualification
Must be enthusiastic and inspiring to learners
Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or within 12 months (or be willing to apply for one)
