Kier Utilities keep our telecoms clients' customers connected to superfast broadband, digital TV and the latest full-fibre gigabit internet services through the design and construction of new fibre networks as well as the maintenance of existing HFC networks.
Your role as a Depot Manager
Working as a Depot Manager on our Openreach Contract. The role will be based at our Basingstoke depot. As the Depot Manager you will be responsible for the facility and stores management. Basic duties will include facility management, stores managements, stock control and supporting the delivery teams to ensure they achieve the requirements of the operational activities.
Key Responsibilities of a Depot Manager
- Responsible for the day to day running of the depot
- Ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are prepared, reviewed, briefed and updated
- Ensure all plant and equipment used is fit for purpose, only operated by suitably trained personnel, and regularly inspected
- Liaising with clients to arrange site visits
- Carry out safety, health, and environmental inspections, ensuring standards are maintained
- Manage & maintain stock ordering, stores levels, oversee usage, cost, and loss reports and daily weekly stores allocations
- Checking, preparing and maintain site reports, designs and drawings
- Ensure excellent working relations are established and maintained with key interfacing areas and support functions
- Check materials for correctness against purchase orders and define spec
- COSHH storage and compliance
- Proven experience in a similar construction delivery depot role
- Demonstrated experience in cost control and quality stock assurance
- CSCS Site Manager (Min)
- Have a valid UK driving licence
- Good computer skills, MS Excel, Outlook, CPA/ Causeway
- COSHH awareness training
