We have an exciting opportunity for a Depot Supervisor at our Acton Depot in Greater London. Acton is a rail depot, off-loading of aggregates from rail via fixed plant and mobile plant, the loading and dispatch of aggregates, inbound aggregates and waste. About the role As Depot Supervisor reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager and Area Operations Manager, you will have a wide-ranging role. You need to be a very strong all-round communicator and influencer, at all levels, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Elements to the role include: Organise and plan trains to meet sales volumes and ensure sufficient stocks on site Assist implementation and ensure compliance of the company’s Health and Safety Rules, Health and Safety policies, Environmental Policy, Site Specific Rules and to ensure that all activities under your control are conducted within the requirements of current legislation To operate site operations in accordance with environmental permits and ensure operations are carried out in a manner which minimises their environmental impact on the surrounding and our near neighbours Instigating Incident investigations in the area of your control in an accurate, methodical, detailed way ensuring that it complies with the company and other regulatory standards ensuring that line management is kept informed within the required timescales Effective utilisation of all plant, equipment and facilities under your control to ensure optimum performance Liaise with commercial and distribution teams in the event of material shortages or regarding any other reason for interruption to customers support requirements Ensure that effective inductions and job training is given to all staff, employees and contractors under your control To ensure that plant and equipment under your control is properly maintained and in safe working condition What will you bring?
