Job Title: Design Coordinator

Location: Flexible to be based across our South West Water region, including Bournemouth

Business Area: Kier Utilities- South West Water

Contract/ Hours: Permanent- Full Time

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services and we are looking for a Design Coordinator to join our Utilities team on our contract with South West Water.

As Design Coordinator, you will report to the Design Manager & Operations Manager and be responsible for coordinating the design for a range of both infra. & Non-infra projects with a combination of MEICA and civils activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the wider design team to assist in determining the design scope from analysing the Clients Requirements & document the delivery plan
  • Provide a good interface between the design disciplines whilst developing solutions and coordinate all other aspects of design by communicating with internal and external stakeholders such as contractors and construction teams and feed this information back into the design team
  • Review proposed designs and drawings to ensure technical and specification compliance prior to approval, identifying problems with the design development and feedback to the wider design team
  • Coordinate required site surveys / data gathering once design scope is realised.
  • Oversee design process against pre-construction programme and overall project delivery budget & chair multi-disciplinary design progress meetings; facilitate in resolving design issues and conflicts
What do we need from you?

  • Hold an understanding of MEICA works (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation)
  • Experience within a similar role, ideally within the water industry
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
