Design Director Job in Manchester

Currently seeking a creative Design Designer with a strong background in workplace design to join a leading Design & Build firm, working from their office in Manchester. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and be confident in their design abilities, able to run projects, manage a team and liaise directly with clients. This is a leading role with a collaborative team that has a fantastic culture and creative work environment.

Established over a decade ago, my client is well-established and a leader within their sector. Current projects range from 5,000sqft to 100,000sqft. This role will be joining an existing team of creative designers and you will be involved in projects from concept through to realisation, focused on the creation and delivery of workplace projects across the UK.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality project deliverables
  • Establish creative strategies for projects
  • Manage and mentor a small team
  • FF&E specification and selection
  • Liaise directly with clients for presentations and meetings
  • Develop design concepts and produce creative solutions
  • Manage the daily running of projects, in collaboration with the wider team

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years' experience in workplace/commercial design, ideally from a D&B background
  • Proficient Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite user
  • Strong understanding of the full design process
  • Experienced at managing a team
  • Client-facing skills, strong presentation skills
  • Degree qualified in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture
