Introduction:

Kier Construction Thames Valley is looking to recruit a Design Manager who will report to the Head of Delivery. The successful post-holder will be responsible for the design and delivery of all projects by ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of require project outcomes by exceeding client expectations on programme, cost and quality.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and delivery of all projects by ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of require project outcomes by exceeding client expectations on programme, cost and quality
  • Ensure the Control Manager for the work orders (planned works) is fully aware of any impact on cost, quality and timely delivery of the design teams work
  • Manage risk, commercial issues and compliance processes and procedures in relation to Quality, H&S, Environmental Management and other policies
  • Production of a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments.
  • Budgetary management of tender design fees and preparation of detailed design fee estimates.
  • Input to analytical & interpretative reports on technical and commercial factors.
    • Individual:

  • Computer literacy; Outlook, Asta Power projects or similar planning software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Hold full, clean driving licence
  • Gained Safety Awareness courses (CITB 5 day course - SMSTS, CDM, Crane Appointed Person, Scaffold, First Aid, Temporary Works)
  • Member of a recognised professional body or qualifications e.g. MCIOB, RICS
  • Be a good communicator and have the ability to work well under pressure, heading site teams
  • Ideally degree qualified
