Design Manager - Dry Lining
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: Up to £60,000 + package
Working for this leading independently owned Construction Company, majoring on civil engineering and operating across the UK and Ireland. The position sits within the specialist dry lining contracting group who carry strong reputation ensuring repeat business for a number of prestigious clients. Contracts are designed and delivered via a bespoke offsite manufacturing system, with services including drywall suspended ceilings and plaster finishes, plus more recently washes room fit out packages. The job as Design Manager fit-out based at our off-site manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, we are seeking a Fit Out Design Manager with joinery fit out experience to take responsibility and manage all design activity's within our Wash Room Fit Out division. Should a Milton Keynes base not be a feasible, there may be the option to work on-site(s) within Central London.
Responsibilities:
:: Working with and reporting directly to the Construction Director, you will create fit out design solutions in line with the project design brief, via bespoke offsite manufacturing system.
:: You will be responsible for managing one fit out designer, working collaboratively to produce drawings and design work.
:: Specifically: Organise and chair design meetings with the architect, site team and suppliers.
:: Manage the design process through to the point of publication of assigned A Status drawings as well as the drawing administration process and be competent with design filing protocol systems.
:: Be actively involved in the sampling process including the production of the samples sign off.
:: Assist with the procurement of bespoke designed materials and play an active part in the order enquiry process, solely from a design process.
:: Liaise and work closely with the Commercial Manager, Factory Manager and build strong relationships with our Project Site Management teams and assist them in the project delivery.
:: Manage / oversee the production of factory / workshop drawings and schedules.
The successful candidate will have:
:: A fit out background is essential in this role.
:: A joinery design background and BIM 3D Modelling experience would be held in high regard.
:: Be competent and experienced in AutoCad and Fit Out design.
:: Understand the clients / architects design brief, specification and drawings.
:: Be capable and competent in dealing directly with the Project Architect and Principle Contractor Design Manager.
:: Have an understanding of CDM regulations and the responsibilities that this brings from a design perspective.
:: Be competent in coordinating the drawings with other trade contractors' drawings and be comfortable dealing with other trade contractors direct.
:: Be familiar in working with and finding information from the architects specification documents.
