We're looking for a Structures Design Team Leader to join our Highways team based in Penrith to take the lead and manage a team to prepare scheme designs, design checks, Options/feasibility reports and documentation in accordance with specified briefs and in line with the time and budgetary allocations. You'll also manage and lead structural assessments and asset management projects. Location: Penrith -with a degree of remote working available, with travel to other offices and sites when required

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £45k - £53k



Responsibilities

As a Design Team Leader, you'll assist in the overall delivery of the workload of a Structures team within the Design Services Structures office



Your day to day will include:

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the programme of work by managing, developing and overseeing sound design solutions to meet client requirements within budget and timescale, following Kier processes and procedures as well as any Client specific requirements.
  • Production and overseeing of designs that comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of staff to grow organically and the development of in-house structures capability.


Who are we looking for?

This role of Design Team Leader is great for you if you have:

  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Delivered design solutions in accordance with National Highways design standards
