Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out design verification activity alongside Civils Supervisor, including, but not limited to;
- production of a simple, redline mark-up of the Employer's Design
- investigations and inspections to complete the Design Verification.
- walking the route, noting all existing services and obstructions such as surface water, manhole chambers, Statutory Undertaker pits, trees, etc.;
- identify appropriate trial hole locations required to determine positions and depths of buried services and obstructions relating to SEDs and line of route (verge to carriageway)
- identifying properties with vaults and basements extending beneath the footpath and street;
- Site survey to establish the cable route, point of termination and the generation of the drawings required by Gigaclear to gain landlord or Customer consent to install cables;
- check the existing Network when installing new distribution cables in accordance with the Service Information. Results of the check will be made available in an agreed format to enable Gigaclear to update its records, if required.
- Liaison with Kier Operational teams, Client representatives, Local Authority, Parish Councils and 3rd party stakeholders, where necessary, as a result of completed surveys, in order to assist with build programme
- Production of 'fit for purpose' job packs for execution by operational resources.
Key Skills and Qualifications: Essential:
- Good communication and people interfacing skills
- Hands on approach
- Good understanding of legislation affecting Kier activities in the highway
- Ability to liaise effectively with Client, Streetworks and planning representatives.
- Ability to liaise effectively with HA and 3rd party stakeholder representatives.
- Excellent IT skills, including excel and PDF
- Experience in Utilities/Telecoms Network.
- Customer Service training
- Awareness and understanding of the client Installation Specifications, and basic understanding of the contract terms and conditions
- NRSWA - Current qualification
