This role is within the Kier Property Mixed Use and Regeneration Team, a growing team which includes major high profile Joint Ventures with local authorities in Watford and Leatherhead delivering residential led mixed use (office and retail/leisure and trade counter industrial), an exciting new Joint Venture with Lloyds Bank to deliver homes in key locations across the country and we have a significant Strategic Land portfolio bringing forward a mix of residential homes in Joint Venture with an exemplar Housing Developer.

We're now recruiting for a Development Manager within our Regeneration Team who will lead and take responsibility for all aspects of the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead and take responsibility for covering all aspects of the development process from the identification of new residential led development opportunities (individual sites, land portfolios and/or corporate acquisitions), to undertaking market reviews and recommending to the wider team what the most profitable and appropriate use is for that site, preparing Argus appraisals and supporting planning applications defining strategies with a view to delivering them through to investment disposal. You will also be involved in land agreements and transactions working with in house and external legal teams. This is undertaken reporting to the Senior/Development Director. If you don't have direct experience of all of these areas, you should have an idea on how you can demonstrate your aptitude to take on new skills. You will also be expected to champion the wellbeing of your colleagues and ensure that an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience is actively encouraged and achieved.

What are we looking for?

You will need experience in the development sector including identifying investments, negotiating lease agreements / end user requirements and ideally investment disposal and have a working knowledge of planning applications and have been involved in consultation processes. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) is encouraged though is not essential. You must have shown the ability to motivate and manage both yourself and a consultant team, as well as having the ability to work with and negotiate directly with private and public sector clients.
