Digital Instructional Designer
12-month fixed term contract
Up to £38,000 pa
The role
Our client is a leading skills & training provider who is currently undergoing a strong period of growth and expansion. In this tole you will support the development of online and blended learning and assessment resources and processes across the organisation.
Duties
Liaise with key stakeholders/Subject Matter Experts to produce exceptional online learning and assessment experiences.
*Help maintain and improve current course design.
*Plan, develop, create, and implement new online course materials and take responsibility for Apprenticeship programme overall design on Bud and Canvas platforms as appropriate
*Work with the helpdesk team to produce guidance for apprentices and assessors
*Spearhead the development and production of video and audio content for richer learning experiences.
*Provide guidance and advice on best practice in the appropriate use of learning technology.
*Work with colleagues to plan deadlines for delivery of content and manage each project to ensure that these are met.
*Proofread and ensure the professional layout of relevant written material
*(including online).
*Ensure that resources are produced in accordance with established QA practices (e.g. templates, version control, file management, document classification).
*Keep up-to-date with best practice in instructional design (e.g. new technology and methods) ensuring that the organisation's output is relevant and leading edge.
Skills & experience
This is a hands-on role and the postholder will be expected to plan, produce and deliver high quality output while maintaining impeccable attention to detail. You must have effective project management skills, remaining calm under pressure, and a good personal manner.
*Educated to degree level or equivalent.
*Experience of working with subject matter experts to design online or blended learning for training, adult or higher education - ideally within an educational environment.
*Experience working with content management or virtual learning systems (e.g. Drupal, Canvas etc).
*Passionate about online learning and assessment with a drive to constantly improve approaches.
*Track record of working and multiple projects side-by-side while maintaining high quality deliverable to the agreed timescale.
*Exceptional attention to detail.
*At least a good functioning level of HTML and CSS.
*Expert level knowledge and experience of general software, e.g. Microsoft Office and Powerpoint.
*Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite/CC.
*Experience of developing scorm packages in Articulate Storyline.
