I'm working with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy that's looking to appoint a Director of Transport Planning into their Birmingham office. This is a key leadership hire due to strong growth in their Development Planning division.
You'll be reporting directly to the Birmingham-based Discipline Lead, taking on a strategic role that blends technical oversight, project direction, and team leadership-while also helping drive further business growth.
The Role
This position will see you lead and support a wide range of development-focused projects across residential, commercial, education, retail, leisure, and renewables. You'll play a hands-on role in delivering Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Statements, while mentoring the team and helping shape the local strategy.
What They're Looking For
- Strong background in development-related transport planning consultancy
- Confident leading projects, winning work, and managing client relationships
- Excellent technical knowledge of the UK planning system
- Experience overseeing or mentoring a planning team
