Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join our Property Services team. This role focuses on assessing and managing disrepair claims for social housing in East London, ensuring compliance with housing law, coordinating repairs, and providing excellent customer service to residents.

Key Responsibilities: Disrepair Inspections: Conduct detailed surveys of properties in response to disrepair claims, documenting issues such as damp, structural defects, and leaks. Produce clear, comprehensive reports outlining necessary repairs.

Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant housing laws and regulations. Prepare reports and evidence for legal proceedings, liaising with solicitors as needed.

Resident Liaison: Communicate with tenants, providing updates on disrepair cases and managing expectations. Address tenant concerns and complaints related to disrepair issues.

Repair Coordination: Work closely with the Repairs team to ensure timely and effective resolution of disrepair issues. Create work schedules, monitor repair progress, and ensure quality.

Reporting and Data Management: Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and repairs. Generate regular reports for senior management on disrepair cases.

Budget Management: Assist in budgeting for repairs, ensuring cost control and value for money in addressing disrepair claims.

Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience as a Surveyor or in property management, with a focus on disrepair assessments in social housing.

Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of building construction, defects, and repair techniques, especially in the context of social housing.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to produce clear reports and liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, and legal teams.

IT Skills: Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office.

Customer Service: Experience handling tenant concerns and delivering high-quality customer service.

Working Conditions: Location: Primarily in East London with some travel between properties.

Work Hours: Standard office hours, with occasional evening or weekend work.

Health & Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations when working in properties.
