Distribution Coordinator Full time Cloud Hill, Derby

We are currently seeking a Distribution Coordinator to coordinate Asphalt and Aggregates deliveries in a busy market. This is a fixed term contract for 9 months, covering maternity leave.

You will be based at Cloud Hill, Derby.

The key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Telephone and email contact to and from customers
  • Timely response to customers' enquiries, queries and complaints in an efficient and professional manner
  • Proactive planning and tracking orders to completion
  • Cost effective dispatch planning of all customer orders through active liaison with commercial, operations and transport teams
  • Scheduling and rescheduling orders whilst utilising haulage fleet effectively
  • Compiling and maintaining accurate records as required
  • Communicating effectively with commercial and production teams and also haulage partners
  • Specific support to the pre-planning of major contracts or schemes in terms of production and transport capacity planning
  • Identifying and contributing to managing your own personal development in collaboration with your line manager

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to a high level of accuracy
  • Good geographical knowledge of the region and road networks
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • A good eye for detail with excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a small team
  • Be calm and adaptable in a fast-changing environment
  • Be able to work on own initiative, but also to take direction when required

We are looking for a professional, experienced Distribution Coordinator who can demonstrate knowledge of road haulage. You will be an excellent communicator and be a proactive self-starter who can build effective relationships both with colleagues and customers.

Previous experience working in Asphalt and Aggregate markets is desirable though not essential as training will be given. A good familiarity of the local geography is desirable.
