District Operations Manager
As the District Operations Manager based in the North East Scotland Region, you enjoy working in a 'hands on' position overseeing multiple Quarry Aggregates, Asphalt and Readymix Concrete Operations.
Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing and directing an operational management team and achieving excellent day to day performance levels in the areas of health and safety, environmental compliance, cost control, product quality and plant reliability at all operations within the area of control.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
- Lead and engage area production teams to maximise the operational performance and capability
- Engage and enable the area team to proactively respond to and generate customer demand
- Collaborate with the area team to ensure operational costs and activity is in line with business strategy
- Proactively drive and innovate SHE strategy with colleagues and third parties
- Proactively drive and innovate people strategy to maximise individual and team potential
- Help management identify, plan and deliver capital investment.

- Extensive relevant operational experience in a similar role and extensive line management experience within multi-site operations
- The ability to drive profit generation, optimise efficiency and quality and develop Quarry Managers through strong leadership skills and persuasion
- The ability to manage competing deadlines by estimating time frames and monitoring own progress
- The ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level
- A commercially focused outlook who responds appropriately on your own to improve outcomes and process's and assumes responsibility for your own performance by demonstrating drive and initiative
- Ability to plan, organise and oversee multiple operations
- Excellent communication skills with an analytical approach and the ability to work accurately at a detailed level
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong team ethic and strong goal orientation skills with a flexible attitude and be open to change
- A valid UK Driving License
