Breedon is a leading construction materials group in the UK and Ireland. We operate two cement plants, around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.

Breedon Southern currently have an exciting opportunity for a ReadyMix District Production Manager based across South Lincolnshire. Reporting to the Area Operations Manager this role will require management and oversight of eight concrete plants within the District.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Concrete Plants and associated machinery as well as technical aptitude. A hands-on management approach will be required as well as a firm focus on Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of production within the district encompassing; haulage, aggregate, Profit & Loss accounts, monthly reporting and Human Resource management along with other duties as required. You will be expected to directly manage and coach the team to ensure that operational sites are run safely, efficiently and that the concrete supplied is to the customer's specification. You will also need to ensure that all operational sites comply with all internal company procedures and policies that have been set out as well as legislative compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the sites produce materials of high quality, complying with company and national standards
  • Ensuring that operational sites run safely in accordance with Company policy, procedures, standards and legal compliance
  • Ensure that the monthly toolbox talks are rolled out
  • Near misses/unsafe acts are being recorded and resolved/Root cause analysis identified/Action closeout
  • Ensure that all internal and external inspections/audits are carried out and any resulting actions are resolved in a timely manner
  • To carry out monthly site inspections
  • To ensure that regular preventative maintenance is carried out with timely closeout and management of defects identified
  • Managing costs in line with your budget/Manage monthly stock control across the District
  • Develop a team and implement strategic training plans

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, forward thinking and ideally with relevant Industry experience and a working knowledge of Production, Operational, and Distribution processes. You will hold an advantage if you also have a working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policies with some Technical knowledge.
