The Directory of Services (DoS) is an integral system that underpins the NHS 111 service and when populated accurately provides the call handler with real time information about services to support a particular patient. eMBED are contracted by the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) across Yorkshire and Humber to provide development and maintenance of the Directory of Service to signpost patients needing urgent care. This includes supporting referrals from both 111 and the ambulance service This is an important role working sometimes in a pressured environment to deliver on behalf of CCG customers a safe and effective DoS Service. The post holder will be the main point of contact for the customer and will be responsible for the on-going maintenance of the local DoS system including issue resolution and successful implementation of future releases and developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the ongoing relationships with the CCGs and key service providers in connection to the DoS, especially in terms of the implementation of new services commissioned by CCGs. This will require detailed understanding of the services being provided to ensure they are correctly profiled on the DoS
  • Oversee the day to day operation of the DoS ensuring that robust governance arrangements are in place and maintained. This will include responsibility for the on-going audit programme and will necessitate close working with both commissioners and providers to ensure that information on the DoS is both accurate and up to date.
  • Be responsible for updating the DoS as required across all relevant CCG areas
  • Respond to queries raised by commissioners or providers
  • Work closely with the 111 Service Provider (YAS) on any new service developments ensuring that all new processes are thoroughly tested and will not have a negative impact on the DoS.
  • Key Skills and Qualifications:
    • Previous NHS experience and knowledge of 111/ DoS service
    • Clear communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences
