McGinley are seeking an experienced Drainage/Pipelayer Ganger to lead a team on major civil engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drainage installation, pipe laying, and groundworks, along with experience in managing a team to ensure efficient and high-quality work. A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of pipelayers and groundworkers to complete drainage and pipe installation tasks.
Carry out excavation, trenching, backfilling, and reinstatement in compliance with safety regulations.
Read and interpret drawings, levels, and specifications to ensure accurate pipe laying.
Use laser levels and pipe lasers to ensure correct alignment and gradient.
Install manholes, culverts, and associated drainage structures.
Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with health & safety regulations.
Complete daily site reports and ensure quality control of all drainage works.
Requirements:
CSCS card (Essential)
Proven experience as a Pipelayer/Drainage Ganger on civil engineering or construction projects
SSSTS or SMSTS certification (Preferred)
CPCS/NPORS tickets for plant operation (Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers) (Preferred)
Confined space training (Desirable)
Full UK driving licence (Essential)
Ability to read technical drawings and levels
Strong leadership skills and experience in supervising a team
Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations for trenching and drainage work
