The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is a professional body that accredits professionals within the land, property and construction sectors worldwide. RICS works in partnership with universities to ensure that their accredited degree courses are relevant to industry. They are the global professional body promoting and enforcing the highest international standards in the valuation, management and development of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure worldwide.
The post holder will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our education and qualification standards, including our relationships with universities and education providers. We are seeking a confident and highly motivated individual to join our team to provide specialist advice, leadership, and support to our regional teams. This role has significant scope for influencing the future of our education and qualifications activities. There will be an element of travel required, in addition to contributing to and leading a number of other events and meetings as required. The principal geographical focus for the role will be UK and Ireland, with the potential for expansion to Middle East and Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and deliver regional education and accreditation functions, ensuring alignment with global standards.
- Develop, manage and deliver regional accreditation plans and lead education standards activities with education providers
- Organise and lead accreditation visits to education providers
- Manage and deliver regional quality audit and assurance frameworks to maintain the consistent standards of our education and qualification activities
- Work with Global EQS team to manage regional education and qualification standards audit activities
- Work with regional teams to ensure appropriate oversight at regional board level for education and qualification standards activities
- Manage and lead the UK Education and Qualification Standards sub-committee, other boards and committees where necessary, ensuring appropriate oversight and assurance
- Prepare agendas, papers, minutes on EQS matters and policy initiatives
- Be a source of technical expertise in education and qualification standards, including policy development
The person
- Experience of quality assurance, or working in either higher education, or for a professional body
- An understanding of education activities and its role in the professional qualification process
- Experience of developing networks and managing productive relationships
- Experience of presenting information and data in formats for a range of audiences, including report writing skills
- Knowledge of higher education systems
- Experience of leading, motivating a team in a matrix organisational environment, It would be advantageous if applicants had experience of, or knowledge of the real estate and construction industry
